The writ petitioner who was released from service from the post of LDA Water Works Department under the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council on 19-04-2021, is before this Court seeking directions for release of arrear salary for the period that she had served. 2. In the course of the proceedings, Mr. P.T.Sangma, learned counsel for the petitioner had produced an office order dated 02-06-2025, whereby the respondents had already sanctioned a sum of ₹5,42,268/- being the arrears payable to the writ petitioner. 3. Mr. P.T.Sangma, learned counsel submits that the only limited prayer of the writ petitioner is for release of the sanctioned amount as per the office order dated 02-06-2025. 4. Mr. S.Dey, learned counsel for the respondents submits that instructions have been received and the arrears have occurred due to the 2026:MLHC:652 3 revision of pay scale of the petitioner when she was in service, and that he has no quarrel for release of the amount sanctioned. 5. Accordingly, in view of the submissions made by the learned counsel for the parties, the respondents are directed to release the arrear amounting to ₹5,42,268/- to the writ petitioner within a period of two months from today. It is made clear that no interest is allowed on the said payment. 6. With the above direction, the writ petition is closed and disposed of.
