BEFORE THE NATIONAL LOK ADALAT Khumbi Ram VS. Mohd. Rahid Alam Cr. Revision No. 459 of 2024 12.09.2026 Present: Sh. Ravinder Singh Jaswal, Advocate for petitioner. Respondent in person with Sh. Rajesh Sharma, Advocate. The matter has been referred for determination to the National Lok Adalat. Both the parties have voluntarily and amicably settled the matter with their free consent, will, volition and without any undue influence or misrepresentation. As per settlement arrived between the parties, a sum of Rs. 49,000/- has been paid by the petitioner/accused to the respondent/complainant which the respondent/complainant has agreed. A sum of Rs. 21,000/- is lying deposited before the learned Trial Court which amount is also agreed to be released to the respondent/complainant. Accordingly, the matter stands finally settled. The parties shall be bound by the terms and conditions of the agreement as agreed.
The terms and conditions of the settlement as above have been explained to the parties/counsel, which they have accepted as correct and appended their signature in evidence of the settlement. Members have also counter signed it. The compounding of the offence shall have an effect of acquittal. Accordingly, the petitioner-accused stands
acquitted of the offence punishable under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act. Since the parties have adopted cost effective and speedy disposal of the matter, before the National Lok Adalat, therefore, it is not expedient to impose any cost for the settlement. The complainant to furnish particulars of the account before the learned Trial Court for releasing the amount which stands deposited before the learned Trial Court.
