BEFORE THE NATIONAL LOK ADALAT Anurag Sharma Vs. Kuldeep Kanwar & Anr. Cr. Revision No. 693 of 2024 12.09.2026 Present: Ms. Suhani Gautam, Advocate for the petitioner alongwith petitioner in person. Respondent Smt. Sharmila Kanwar in person also representing minor respondent Kanwar Digvijay Singh with Ms. Ananya Verma, Advocate vice Sh. Lakshay Thakur, Advocate. The matter has been referred for determination to the National Lok Adalat. Both the parties have voluntarily and amicably settled the matter with their free consent, will, volition and without any undue influence or misrepresentation. The parties have settled the matter. As per settlement arrived between the parties, the matter has been compromised for amount of Rs. 7,80,000/-. Out of which the sum of Rs. 3,90,000/- has been paid by the petitioner/accused to the respondent/complainant which amount has been received by the respondent/complainany. Further, as per compromise a sum of Rs. 2,34,000/- is lying deposited before the Registry of the Hon’ble High Court and out of this amount, a sum of Rs. 1,00,000/- is agreed to be released to respondent Smt. Sharmila Kanwar and remaining amount shall remain deposited in the name of minor Kanwar Digvijay Singh for a period of three years. Further, a sum of Rs. 1,56,000/- is lying deposited before the Trial Court. Out of this amount, a sum of Rs. 56,000/- is agreed to be released to Smt. Sharmila Kanwar and remaining amount of Rs. 1,00,000/- shall
remain deposited before the learned Trial Court in the name of minor Kanwar Digvijay Singh for a period of three years. Accordingly, the matter stands finally settled. The parties shall be bound by the terms and conditions of the agreement as agreed. The terms and conditions of the settlement as above have been explained to the parties/counsel, which they have accepted as correct and appended their signature in evidence of the settlement. Members have also counter signed it. The compounding of the offence shall have an effect of acquittal. Accordingly, the petitioner-accused stands acquitted of the offence punishable under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act. Since the parties have adopted cost effective and speedy disposal of the matter, before the National Lok Adalat, therefore, it is not expedient to impose any cost for the settlement.
The respondent/complainant Smt. Sharmila Kanwar will file particulars of the account to be open in the name of her minor son Kanwar Digvijay Singh before the Registry of the Hon’ble High Court as well as before the learned Trial Court and also particularsof her accounts for release of the amount. Copy of order be supplied to the parties free of cost. File be sent to the Registry of the Hon’ble High Court for doing the needful/consignment. RO/AC (Prem Pal Ranta) Presiding Officer
