Mr. Mohsin Bhat, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the writ petition preferred by Ms. Sapna Devi bearing SWP No. 1858/2014 titled “Sapna Devi vs. State of J&K and others” was dismissed for non-prosecution vide order dated 12.09.2017, as such, the respondents are under obligation to consider the claim of the petitioner in light of the judgment passed by the Hon’ble the Supreme Court of India, in case titled as Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and others vs. Saba Wani reported in 2026 INSC 439. 2. Ms. Meenakshi Salathia, learned Dy. AG appearing for the respondents submits that the respondents would consider the claim of the petitioner in accordance with the judgment (supra) passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. 3. In view of the above, contempt proceedings are closed and the instant contempt petition is accordingly disposed of, with liberty to Serial No. 95 2 CCP(S) No. 43/2024 the petitioner to get the instant contempt petition revived in case his grievance stands un-addressed.
