Union Territory of J&K through Principal Secretary to Govt. Home Dept. Civil Secretariat, Jammu/Srinagar 2. District Magistrate, Kupwara 3. Superintendent District Jail, Anantnag ...Respondent(s) Through: Mr. Faheem Nisar Shah, GA CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE M. A. CHOWDHARY, JUDGE. ORDER 21.05.2026 1. Petitioner, through the medium of this petition, has challenged Order No. 11-DMK/PSA(F) of 2024 dated 05.11.2024, passed by respondent No. 2- District Magistrate, Kupwara, whereby the petitioner was detained under the J&K Public Safety Act, 1978, for inflicting damage to forests and smuggling timber. 2. Learned counsel for the respondents submits that the impugned order was executed on 18.11.2024 and, as such, the impugned order has outlived its maximum life of one year, rendering the instant petition infructuous. Seemingly that is the reason for continuous non-representation on behalf of the petitioner. 3. Accordingly, the petition is disposed of, as infructuous. (M. A. CHOWDHARY) JUDGE SRINAGAR: 21.05.2026 “Adil Ismail”
