Learned counsel for the parties after arguing for a while and having instructions from their respective clients have come up with the amicable settlement under which the appellant has undertaken to settle the claim of the respondents by making a total payment of Rs. 5 Lacs as a full and final settlement. 2. Learned counsel for the appellant would submit that 50% of the awarded amount i.e. Rs. 3.50 Lacs already stands deposited before the Registry of this Court. 3. In view of the aforesaid consensus arrived at by the parties, this petition is disposed of as settled on the following terms: (i) The balance amount of Rs. 1.50 lacs shall be deposited by the appellant in the Registry of this Court within three weeks. The same, on deposit, shall be released in favour of the respondent upon proper verification along with the amount already deposited. 4. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the respondent No. 2 that respondent No. 2 -Ghulam Nabi Bhat has died during the pendency of this petition. If proof of his death and the legal heirs certificate/succession certificate is produced before the Registrar Judicial, Srinagar, the amount shall be released in favour of the legitimate legal heirs of the respondent No. 2 in accordance with law.
