On 20.04.2026, learned counsel for the respondent had submitted that the respondents would forego the interest @ 9% per annum on the compensation awarded by the learned Writ Court. 2. Mrs. Monika Kohli, learned Senior AAG, had sought time to seek instructions regarding the said submission. She now submits that an amount of ₹5.00 lacs has already been deposited with the Registry of Page 2 LPA No.230/2024 this Court, and the balance amount of ₹5.00 lacs shall be deposited within a period of two weeks. 3. In view of the above, the judgment of the learned Writ Court dated 13.07.2023 is modified to the extent that the respondent is held entitled to a total sum of ₹10.00 lacs only. The appellants are directed to deposit the remaining amount of ₹5.00 lacs within two weeks from today. 4. Disposed of.
