JAI 2. This Miscellaneous Petition was filed on 18.10.2024, and till date, no counter-affidavit has been filed by the respondent/College. Since wages under Section 17-B of the Industrial Disputes Act are mandatory in nature, and the petitioner has explicitly stated in the affidavit that the workmen are not gainfully employed elsewhere and the Management also did not produce any proof to substantiate that the workmen who are gainfully employed, this Court deems it appropriate to allow this petition. 3. Accordingly, this Writ Miscellaneous Petition is allowed. The respondent/College is hereby directed to pay the last drawn wages to six workmen, in terms of the Award dated 26.10.2022, passed in I.D.(L).No.5 of 2017 on the file of the Labour Court, Puducherry. 4.
