On 28.04.2025, this Court disposed of the Writ Petition by granting eight weeks’ time for the respondents 1 & 2 to initiate action against 3rd respondent for encroaching the Government land and also directed the Registry to list the matter on 25.08.2025 for reporting compliance. Till date, the order passed by the Division Bench not been complied. 2. Today, when the matter taken up for consideration, the Learned Counsel for the 3rd respondent submitted that, against the order passed by the authority directing the 3rd respondent to remove the encroachment, the 3rd respondent has filed statutory appeal before the Principal District Court, Puducherry and obtained stay of the order of eviction. 3. Taking note of the fact that the Principal District Court, while entertaining the statutory appeal, has granted interim stay of the operation of the eviction order. Therefore, this Court is suffice to close the Writ Petition, with liberty to the respondents 1 & 2 to proceed further after the disposal of C.M.A.No.5 of 2025. 5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
