ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed for the following reliefs:- “Directing the respondents herein to disburse the petitioners retirement benefits and pay 12 percent compounding interest on the delayed payment of retirement benefits w.e.f. 30.06.2023 within a time frame as deem fit and proper by this Honble court.” 2. The petitioner would submit that he was permitted to retire from service on 30.06.2023. However, the respondents have not settled the retirement benefits due and payable to the petitioner. According to the petitioner, the retirement benefits, including Gratuity, pensionary benefits, and other terminal dues, have been kept pending without any valid reason. 3. The petitioner would further submit that, despite making several requests to the respondents seeking settlement of the said retirement benefits, no https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 10520 of 2024 __________ Page3 of 5 action has been taken to date. The inaction on the part of the respondents has caused serious prejudice and financial hardship to the petitioner. Hence, the present Writ Petition. 4. Heard the learned counsel on either side. 5. Admittedly, the petitioner had retired from service on 30.06.2023 and her terminal benefits have not been disbursed to date. The learned SPG appearing on behalf of the respondents has fairly conceded that the petitioner is entitled to her terminal benefits, along with interest for the delayed payment. Accordingly, the respondents are directed to disburse the terminal benefits to the petitioner, together with interest for the period of delay at the prevailing bank rate, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands disposed of.
