The present writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus for directing the respondents to appoint the petitioner as Constables (Water Carrier) in Border Security Force in OBC category against the posts/vacancies for state of Punjab in pursuance of the selection process initiated through Advertisement dated 20.02.2023 (Annexure P-1) in view of the fact that petitioner has obtained higher merit position than the last selected candidate in OBC category as is evident from the list of cut off marks (Annexure P-7, dated nil) uploaded by the respondents on their website and a direction to the respondents to upload the complete merit list of all the candidates with details of the marks/merit position of all the candidates and to produce the complete record of the selection process relevant to the present case as the respondents have kept everything in utter darkness and recruitment has not been made strictly as per merit which is MOHD AYUB 2026.07.17 17:02 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment. CWP-20281-2024 (O&M) -2- evident from the fact that petitioner has not been appointed despite of getting 38 marks and as per list of cut off marks (Annexure P-7, dated nil) the last selected candidate in OBC category has obtained 37.515 marks. 2. Learned counsel for the respondents contends that the similar matter has already been dealt with by Coordinate Bench of this Court in CWP-10947-2024, titled as “Gagan Angural Vs. Union of India and others”, decided on 19.11.2024. 3. In view of the above, the present writ petition is disposed of in terms of judgment passed in CWP-10947-2024, titled as “Gagan Angural Vs. Union of India and others”, decided on 19.11.2024. 4. All the pending miscellaneous applications, if any, are also disposed of.
