When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the impugned order has been passed at the point in time when the charges were pending against the petitioner. It is now informed that on 24.09.2024, the petitioner was also imposed with the punishment of Compulsory Retirement. Therefore, the disciplinary proceedings has come to an end and there is no impediment to the respondents in granting the petitioner’s request for Selection Grade in the category of Inspector of Police.
