CORAM:

ORDER 09.01.2026
Order No.
03.
1. Heard Mr. P.R. Chhatoi, learned counsel for the Petitioners and Ms. B.L. Tripathy, learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State-Opposite Parties.
2. The Tahasildar, Gop, namely, Surya Sankar Das is present in person and submits that the compliance affidavit has been filed on
07.01.2026. The same may be brought on record.
3. Copy of the compliance affidavit as produced by Ms. B.L. Tripathy, learned A.S.C. reveals that OLR Case No.112 of 2014 has been disposed of vide Annexure-A/1.
4. Mr. Chhatoi, learned counsel for the Petitioners submits that such disposal of the OLR Case vide order dated 12.12.2025 under Annexure-A/1 is not in true spirit of the direction of this Court since the case has been disposed of by the Tahasildar by observing that he has no jurisdiction to annul the conversion case.
Digitally Signed Signed by: BASANTA KUMAR BARIK Reason: Authentication Location: High Court of Orissa, Cuttack Date: 09-Jan-2026 18:54:18 Signature Not Verified p. 2 5. However, as seen from the order dated 23.07.2024 passed in W.P.(C) No.16363 of 2024 of this Court, the direction was to dispose of the OLR Case No.112 of 2014 in accordance with law. Thus, when the Tahasildar has disposed of the OLR Case No.112 of 2014 as per Annexure-A/1, no further merit survives to proceed in the contempt petition.
6. Accordingly, the CONTC is disposed of by dropping the contempt proceeding.
7. It is left open for the Petitioners to challenge the order of the Tahasildar in appropriate proceeding, as prayed for.
8. The personal appearance of the Tahasildar, Gop is dispensed with.
