The present writ petition pertains to the disqualification proceedings initiated against the petitioners under the provisions of the Arunachal Pradesh Local Authorities (Prohibition of Defection) Act, 2023, from continuing as elected Gram Panchayat Chairpersons and Gram Panchayat Members under the concerned Zila Parishad Constituency. The petitioners were elected as Gram Panchayat Members in the Panchayat election held in the year 2020. The subsequent Panchayat election has already been conducted in the year 2025.
