This court under its order dated 11.01.2024 passed in WP(C) 6887/2023 issued the following directions: “In view of the above, the writ petition stands disposed of directing the respondent No. 2, i.e. the Director of Higher Education, Assam as well as the respondent Nos. 3,4 and 5 to process the case of the petitioner for her promotion under the Career Advancement Scheme from the grade of Assistant Professor (Stage-I) to that of Assistant Professor (Stage-II) in the Department of Education in Jhanji Hemnath Sarma College, Sivasagar by following the Office Memorandum dated 13.11.2013 and to calculate the Academic Performance Indicator score of the petitioner including that for the period she was on permitted leave, in accordance with the procedure prescribed in the said Public Notice dated 05.09.2018 issued by the University Grants Commission and thereafter, to promote the petitioner, in the event she satisfies all other eligibility criterion, to the level of Assistant Professor (Stage-II) w.e.f. 29.11.2021 will al consequential benefits of pay, seniority, etc.” 2. As promotion has been affected, in the opinion of this court the order dated 11.01.2024 passed in WP(C) 6887/2023 has been complied with. 3. Accordingly, the present contempt petition stands closed. However, the grievance of the petitioner raised in this contempt petition that effect of promotion ought to have been given from 29.11.2021 can be agitated before the appropriate forum, if so advised.
