The petitioners were appointed as computer assistants on contractual basis in 2008. They claim enhanced remuneration in terms of the memorandum issued by the Finance Department, Government of West Bengal on 17th April, 2023. Learned counsel for the State submits that since the petitioners were appointed in 2008, they were not governed by the notification issued on 22nd July, 2013 or the memorandum issued on 17th April, 2023. On prayer of the petitioners, liberty is granted to submit a comprehensive representation ventilating their contention before the Secretary, Department of Panchayat and Rural Development, being the 1st respondent herein, within a fortnight from date. The 1st respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the same within six weeks from the date of receipt thereof upon affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to all concerned including the petitioners/their authorized representatives, in accordance with law. 2 The decision taken by the authority shall be communicated to the petitioners within a week thereof. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
