This Court on 02.09.2024 categorized the grievances of the petitioners in this Public Interest Litigation on the following four categories: (i) Change of the water supply lines of the area; (ii) Change of the sewerage lines of the area, (iii) Construction of road on both sides of the existing drain; and (iv) Coverage of existing 2.2 meter wide open drain running in between Transport Nagar – Shingar Cinema-Gaushala Road up to Budha Nalah after widening it to 5.6 meters. As regards category no.(i), there is no dispute between the rival parties that the same stands completed. 4. As regards category no.(ii), change of sewerage lines of area concerned, the petitioners, for the last 1-1/2 years, have not filed any document to substantiate the claim that the same has not been completed. 5. As regards category no.(iii), the petitioners do not dispute that the construction of the road on both sides of existing drain has been completed except for a small portion. 6. As regards category no.(iv), learned counsel for respondent- Corporation submits that the work is nearing completion and shall be completed shortly. 7. Since the petitioners have not filed any document to controvert the aforesaid submissions made by learned counsel for the Municipal Corporation, the present petition stands disposed of with a direction to the Municipal Corporation to complete the work, which is left unfinished, within a period of two months and file status report in that regard in the Registry of this Court latest by the end of June, 2026. 8.
