Proceedings in the present contempt petition were initiated for compliance of order dated 02.03.2022, whereby the respondents were directed to release compensation in favour of the petitioners. The writ petition was disposed of with the following direction:- “In the facts and circumstances, we dispose of the petition with a direction to the respondents to make the payment of compensation to the petitioners for their acquired land as per the final award dated 31.03.2018 with statutory interest etc within a period of three months from the date certified copy of this order is produced before them provided the payment in respect of the above said land claimed by the petitioners has not been already made.” 2. During the pendency of the present contempt petition, the respondents had approached the Hon’ble Supreme Court by way of Civil Appeal (@ Diary No. 62733/2025), pursuant whereto further proceedings in this contempt petition were directed to be adjourned. The Hon’ble Supreme Court, vide judgment dated 20.04.2026, has allowed the SLP and set aside the impugned Serial No. 32 2 CCP(D) No. 16/2023 IN WP(C) No. 362/2022 order while remitting the matter back to the High Court for fresh consideration. 3. In view of the fact that the order dated 02.03.2022 stands set aside, nothing survives for consideration in the present contempt petition.
