The present writ petition has been filed seeking the following reliefs: 2. The grievance of the petitioner RWA was that the respondent no.2/MCD was demolishing the Dhalaaon at M-Block, Greater Kailash-II, New Delhi-110048 in order to open a shop/kiosk by respondent no.3/Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Limited. 3. In the status report filed on behalf of respondent no.2/MCD on 28th August, 2026, it is stated that in order to mechanize and streamline the process of garbage collection, a Fixed Compactor Transfer Station (FCTS) is This is a digitally signed order. The construction of the FCTS is in progress. 4. Till the time the FCTS is commissioned and completed, respondent no.2/MCD is ensuring regular and daily lifting of garbage/waste from M- Block, Greater Kailash-II, New Delhi-110048. 4.1. Photographs have been filed along with the status report to show the same. 5. The relevant extracts from the said status report are extracted hereinbelow: “4. That in order to further mechanize and streamline the process of garbage collection and to obviate manual handling of waste in the area, a Fixed Compactor Transfer Station (FCTS) is being constructed at M-Block, Greater Kailash-II (GK-II). The said FCTS shall operate through a mechanized system using closed containers, thereby ensuring hygienic, odour-free and spillage-free collection and transportation of garbage/waste, in place of the open Dhalao presently in use. 5. That the construction of the said FCTS at M-Block, GK-II is presently in progress, and upon its completion and commissioning, the same shall further improve the efficiency of solid waste management in the area, do away with the need for open dumping/storage of garbage, and effectively redress the grievance raised by the Petitioner Association. 6. That pending completion and commissioning of the said FCTS, the Respondent/MCD is ensuring regular and daily lifting of garbage/waste from the Dhalao at M-Block, GK-II through its existing manpower and machinery, and adequate sanitation and cleanliness measures, including regular sweeping, sprinkling of disinfectant, and deployment of sanitation staff, are being undertaken at the site to maintain hygienic conditions in the area. Mr. Mahajan, counsel for respondent no.2/MCD submits that Dhalaaon has been demolished and some temporary garbage collection mechanism has been put in place. 7.
