Instant petition has been filed under Section 528 of BNSS, seeking quashing of FIR No. 217 dated 05.12.2021 registered under Sections 379-B(2), 34 IPC at Police Station Majitha Road, District Police Commissionerate Amritsar on the basis of compromise dated 01.04.2023 and all subsequent proceedings arising therefrom including order framing charge dated 21.11.2022. 2. The offence, which is sought to be quashed is under Section 379-B(2) IPC and petition before this Court is pending since 18.05.2023, when the proceedings were adjourned on request of counsel for the petitioners. None appeared on 29.05.2023, and notice was issued to respondent No. 2 on 21.08.2023. Again learned counsel for the petitioners sought adjournment on 31.08.2023 and none appeared on behalf of respondent No. 2 on 31.08.2023. Again none appeared on 06.05.2024 on behalf of the petitioners and next time on 14.05.2024 on behalf REENA 2026.07.16 14:28 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh CRM-M-25146-2023 of respondent No. 2 also. 3. Till date, looking at the absence of counsel for the parties from the previous orders, it is found that petition is pending since the last three years but neither petitioners nor the private respondent No. 2 seems to be interested in seeking quashing of the FIR on the basis of compromise. Moreover, such like offences can not be quashed merely on the basis of compromise. Such crimes are broadly committed against the Society to terrify for small gains by the accused by snatching the belongings or the articles, which are there with the victims. 4. The petition is accordingly, dismissed. 5.
