For Petitioner : Mr.B.Prasanna Vinoth For R1 & R2 : Ms.K.R.Shivashankari, Counsel for State For R3 : Mr.T.Balamurugan O R D E R This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to take action against the third respondent as per the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act 2007, based on the representation of the petitioner dated 20.03.2023. 2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties. 3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the third respondent is the son of the petitioner and is employed as a Manager with HDFC Bank. The grievance of the petitioner is that the third respondent had assured that he would pay monthly maintenance to the petitioner. It is further 2/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.13227 of 2023 submitted that, pursuant to a complaint lodged before the police, the third respondent had also undertaken to pay maintenance, however, he has failed to honour the said undertaking and has not paid any maintenance amount till date. Left with no other efficacious remedy, the petitioner submitted an application dated 20.03.2023 before the second respondent seeking appropriate relief under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. Since no orders have been passed on the said application till date, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition, seeking a direction to respondents 1 and 2 to consider and dispose of the said application within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 4. The learned counsel further submitted that it would suffice if this Court issues a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's application dated 20.03.2023 and pass appropriate orders thereon within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 5.
