Kaushik, learned Standing Counsel, Department of School Education, and Mr. C. Baruah, learned Standing Counsel, Accountant General (A&E), Assam. 2. The petitioner in the present writ petition has raised a grievance with regard to non finalization of her pension and other pensionary benefits. In terms of the directions passed by this Court in the present proceedings, the matter was further processed by the respondent authorities and a pension proposal in respect of the petitioner was forwarded to the Director of Pensions, Assam, on 27.02.2026. 3. Mr. A. K. Bhuyan, learned Senior Counsel, appearing for the petitioner, Page No.# 3/3 submits that the PPO, in respect of the petitioner was issued on 17.03.2026. He further submits that the arrears as receivable by the petitioner of her pension has been since credited in her bank account. Accordingly, Mr. Bhuyan, further submits that the pension and pensionary benefits receivable by the petitioner having already been deposited in her bank account, the grievance of the petitioner raised in the present proceedings, stands redressed. However, he submits that the respondents should be made liable for payment of interest on account of the delayed payment of pension and pensionary benefits to the petitioner. 4. This Court, has appreciated submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner, however, considering the reasons for which the delay in payment of the pension and pensionary benefits have so occasioned, is of the considered view that it is not a fit case, wherein, the respondents would be required to be saddled with an interest component for the delayed payment of the pension and pensionary benefits to the petitioner. 5. The pension and pensionary benefits having been authorized to the petitioner and the amounts involved being credited to her bank account, this Court is of the considered view that the present writ petition has been rendered infructuous and accordingly, the same stands closed.
