Public Prosecutor for the State of Assam and Mrs. R Choudhury, the learned counsel appearing for the respondent No.2. 2. This application has been filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure praying for quashing the proceeding of PRC Case No.685/2023 pending in the Court of the learned Chief Page No.# 2/2 Judicial Magistrate, Dibrugarh. 3. It may be stated that the present two petitioners and the respondent No. 2 have compromised their disputes on the basis of a written agreement dated 07.10.2024. The said agreement has been filed and kept in the record as Exhibit-X. 4. Mrs. Choudhury has submitted that she has no objection if the FIR against the present petitioners is quashed and the entire amount is returned by the respondent No.2. 5. After hearing the learned counsel of both sides, this Court is of the opinion that the parties have compromised their dispute in an outside court settlement and therefore, this Criminal Petition has no leg to stand. 6. Accordingly, the proceeding of PRC Case No.685/2023 pending in the Court of the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dibrugarh is quashed and set aside.
