On the last date of hearing also, nobody had appeared on behalf of the petitioners. By virtue of the present petition, the petitioners are challenging order dated 18.10.2022 passed by the learned Special Mobile Magistrate (Sub Judge), Anantnag, whereby the learned trial Magistrate has, while exercising his powers under Section 23 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, passed an ex parte interim order awarding monthly monetary compensation in favour of the respondents along with the provision for their residence. The order impugned is appealable in nature in terms of Section 29 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005.
