The writ petition, in WP.No.29306 of 2022, has been filed challenging the election schedule on 14.10.2022 along with the valid candidate list and contesting final list dated 22.10.2022 and 29.10.2022. 3. When this matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the official respondents would submit that the present petitions were filed in respect of preparation of voters’ list for the Election conducted in the year of 2022. Subsequent to the filing of these petitions, the voters’ list was prepared and the election was conducted, during November, 2022, for a tenure https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 29290 of 2022 of 3 years, i.e., 2022 to 2025. Now, after the expiry of said tenure, new voters’ list was prepared and the election was conducted for the period from 2025 to 2028. Therefore, he would contend that the prayers in these petitions have become infructuous and hence, prays for dismissal of these petitions. 4. In view of the above, it is clear that the prayers in these petitions have become infructuous. Therefore, by recording the submissions made by the respondents, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No cost.
