For Petitioner(s): Mr.P.Jagadeesan For Respondent(s): Ms.A.Bakkiya Lakshmi Government Advocat https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 25368 of 2022 __________ Page2 of 4 ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the impugned order dated 08.06.2021 and to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to correct the mistake in their records in respect of the property covered under Document No. 2815 of 2020 which was registered on the file of the 2nd Respondent by amending the Ward Number of the property as Ward No. B, New ward No. J. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that a settlement memo was filed in the National Lok Adalat on 06.12.2014 along with a drawing wherein, it is mentioned that as per the present resurvey it is Ward No.J, Block-36, T.S.No.20 and as per the old survey number, it is Ward No.B, Block No.36, T.S.No.20. Therefore, the learned counsel would submit the respondents instead of updating the record as New Ward No.J, they updated as Old Ward No.J. Hence, the present writ petition is filed. 3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that they will make a suitable correction as stated in the National Lok Adalat award as New Ward No.J instead of Old Ward No.J. 4. In the present case, all the particulars are very much available in the settlement memo which was registered by the respondents and a perusal of the drawing filed along with memo, it is clearly mentioned as New Ward No.J as well as Old Ward No.B. But, in the records, the respondents updated as Old Ward No.J. The respondents supposed to have updated the record as New Ward No. J instead of Old Ward No. J. Therefore, it is on the fault of the respondents in updating the records and hence, the impugned order is liable to be set aside. 6. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is allowed, the impugned order is set aside and the respondents are directed to update the record as New Ward No.J instead of Old Ward No.J. The said exercise shall be carried out within a period of four days from today. 7.
