(ORAL) In the instant writ petition, a prayer is made for issuance of Mandamus upon the respondents to release the salary of the petitioner for the period 29.04.2011 to 03.10.2011, and also interest on the delayed payment. 2. As per the written statement, the pay of the petitioner for the above period was not paid, being the disputed period. However, as a consequence of the decision dated 01.11.2023 taken by the competent authority, the said period was treated as leave of kind due. Further the District Education Officer (SE), Rupnagar has accorded sanction vide letter dated 08.12.2023 to release the salary to the petitioner from 29.04.2011 to VINAY MAHAJAN 2026.07.09 18:22 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CWP-24643-2022 #2# 03.10.2011. The copies of the orders are appended as Annexure R-1 and R- 2 with the written statement. 3. In view of the above, the main grievance of the petitioner has now been redressed. However, the only issue which remains to be adjudicated is, as to whether the petitioner, in the facts and circumstances of the case, is also entitled for the interest on the delayed payment. Since the issue has not been addressed by the authority concerned, therefore, at the first instance the petitioner is relegated to the authority concerned. 4. In case, the petitioner approaches the authority concerned by moving a representation seeking interest on the delayed payment, the latter shall make every possible endevaour to decide the same within 06 weeks thereafter. 5.
