(Oral) In the present writ petition, the petitioner is praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent No.3 to appoint the petitioner on the post of Constable (Commando), on the ground that he has secured 66.8% marks, which are stated to be higher than those obtained by the last selected candidate i.e. 66.2% marks. 2. A short reply dated 21.11.2023 has been filed on behalf of respondent No. 3. A perusal of paragraph 7 of the said reply reveals that, as per respondent No.3, i.e. the Haryana Staff Selection Commission, the petitioner has secured 65 marks, whereas the last selected candidate in the petitioner’s category, namely the SC category, has secured 66.20 marks. It is further stated therein that the cut-off marks for the waiting list in the said category were 65.60 marks. 3.
