Also heard Mrs. Vanneihsiami, learned Government Advocate for the respondent Nos. 1 to 7. 2. The present Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed due to the deteriorated condition of the Aizawl-Thenzawl-Lunglei road and the alleged inaction of the State respondents in taking steps for improvement of the said road. 3. In this respect, the additional affidavit filed on behalf of the respondent Nos. 1 to 4, 6 and 7 on 18.03.2026, is to the effect that the State Government had sanctioned Rs. 58,99,00,000/- only during 2025-2026 for Page No.# 3/4 Rehabilitation and Strengthening of the Aizawl-Thenzawl-Lunglei road vide letter No.B.12020/8/2024-PWD(T) dated 16.10.2025. Further, allocation of fund during 2025-2026 for Rehabilitation and Strengthening of the Aizawl- Thenzawl-Lunglei road amounting to Rs. 2368 lakhs had been received by the State Government vide SASCI 2024-2026 vide letter No. G.20016/3/2025-FBT dated 19.11.2025. An additional amount of Rs. 3531 lakhs had also been received during 2025-2026 for Rehabilitation and Strengthening of the Aizawl-Thenzawl-Lunglei road vide letter No. 20016/3/2025-FBT dated 25.11.2025. Thus, the total amount allocated by the State Government for the Aizawl-Thenzawl-Lunglei road is approximately Rs. 5899 lakhs, which has been sanctioned for rehabilitation and strengthening of the said road. The additional affidavit also contains the Restricted Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) dated 26.02.2026, in respect of the contract for improvement and upgradation of the Aizawl-Thenzawl-Lunglei road, which is divided into two packages i.e. Package-III and Package-IV. 4. The tenders having been submitted by the bidders, Letters of Acceptance dated 09.03.2023 have been issued to the contractor SLT Infracon Pvt. Ltd., Badharpurghat, Hailakandi in respect of Package-III and IV. 5. On considering all the above facts, we are of the view that there is nothing more to be looked into with regard to the grievance of the petitioner regarding the prayer to strengthen and improve the Aizawl-Thenzawl-Lunglei road. 6. In view of the above reasons, the PIL stands closed and disposed of. 7. It is needless to add that there being no issue raised with regard to the Page No.# 4/4 tender being a restricted tender, we are not inclined to go into that issue in this PIL.
