JUSTICE NELSON SAILO ORDER 20.05.2026 On 18.05.2026, Court passed the following order:- Page No.# 3/5 “Mr. P. Goswami, learned counsel appearing through RVC submits that since he has received the vakalatnama signed by the respondent No. 9 just recently, he will be filing the same during the course of the day. He further submits that respondent No. 9 has sent a mail to the respondent No. 8 on 12.05.2026 informing the latter about the Court's Order dated 24.04.2026. The respondent No. 9 therefore requested the approval for release of the compensation amount before the next date of hearing. The learned counsel submits that he has also just received by whatsapp a mail which is written by the Corporate Office in Delhi to the Canara Bank to transfer the money to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Lawngtlai district, Lawngtlai. The learned counsel, Mr. P. Goswami, shall inform the Court as to whether the amount has been transferred or not. It may also be noted that the fact of the amount having being sanctioned by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Border Management (BM-I Division), Govt. of India, vide two (2) communications dated 03.03.2026 and 07.04.2026, marked as "X" were already placed before this Court, which clearly indicate that the amount has already been sanctioned. Therefore, if the authority to transfer the fund, does not ensure that the fund is Page No.# 4/5 transferred, consequential orders requiring the personal appearance of the defaulting officer will have to be passed. Considering the same, let the matter be listed again on 20.05.2026.” Today, Mr. Priyangshu Goswami learned counsel for the respondent No. 9 appearing through RVC and assisted by Mr. Roshan Subedi, learned counsel submits that the Canara Bank Gurgaon Millennium Branch Plazza has credited the amount of compensation to the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Lawngtlai under UTR No. CNRBR5 2026051986240713 amounting to Rs. 225251253.90/-. In support of his submission, he has produced the mail sent to the NPCC by the Canara Bank dated 19.05.2026 and also the mail sent by the NPCC Tripura Zone to the Deputy Commissioner, Lawngtlai on the same day. Considering the development, the order of this Court appears to be complied with. Accordingly, the contempt stands closed.
