IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB & HARYANA AT CHANDIGARH. 131/2 CRM-M-12625-2021 (O&M). Date of Decision: 28.07.2026. Dr. Sidharth Rai and others ....Petitioners. VERSUS State of Punjab and another ....Respondents. *** CORAM : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SANJAY VASHISTH --- Present: None for the petitioners. **** SANJAY VASHISTH, J. (Oral) On a call given by the Executive Committee of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association, the Members of the Bar have suspended the work from 28.07.2026 (Post Lunch) till 30.07.2026, in protest against the implementation of the Legal Aid Defence Counsel (LADC), Policy. 2. The application (CRM-29631-2026) has been filed by the applicant/ petitioner seeking withdrawal of the main petition (CRM-M-12625- 2021), which is pending for 11.08.2026. 3. It has been pleaded in the application that the dispute between the petitioners and respondent No.2 has been resolved by way of amicable settlement and even the complaint has been withdrawn by respondent No.2/ complainant before the trial Court, therefore, the present petition has even been rendered infructuous. JITENDER 2026.07.29 14:15 I attest to the accuracy of this document CRM-M-12625-2021 (O&M) -2- 4. In view of the explanation given in the application, though there is no representation on behalf of the petitioners, this Court does not find any substantial reason to keep the main petition pending for any longer. Thus, the application is allowed and invoking the inherent powers, this Court prepones the date of hearing in the main petition from 11.08.2026 to today itself. Main Case For the reasons stated above, the petition is ordered to be disposed of having been rendered infructuous. However, no one is there to assist the Court, later on if either of the party finds any error regarding the fact recorded above, it will be open for such party to move an appropriate application for recalling/correction of the today’s order.
