Sr. No. 55 IN THE HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT JAMMU (THROUGH VIRTUAL MODE) CCP(S)/214/2020 CM/3994/2020 SURINDER KUMAR …Petitioner(s)/appellant(s) Through: None Vs. M RAJU SECRETARY POWER DEV DEPTT AND OTHERS. ...Respondent(s) Through: Ms. Saliqa Sheikh, Assisting Counsel vice Mr. Raman Sharma, AAG CORAM: HON’BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE O R D E R 15-05-2026 Learned counsel for the respondents submits that statement of facts on behalf of respondents has been filed. She has drawn attention of the court to the order dated 10.10.2022 (Annexure R-1), appended with the response/objections, and submits that the claim of the petitioner was considered by the competent authority in the right earnest and, the same has since been rejected being devoid of merit. So much so, she submits that vide Government Order No.43-F of 2015 dated 17-03-2015 the Department of Finance even withdrew the authority to engage casual/Seasonal Labourers from the various Departments as was earlier delegated vide various Government orders. The petition at hand is pending since 2020 and nearly five and a half years have gone by. None is present either on behalf of the petitioner to point out if anything actually survives in the matter. That being so, the Court is choiceless but to dismiss the petition for non- prosecution. (ARUN PALLI) CHIEF JUSTICE SRINAGAR 15-05-2026 Shameem H. Shameem Hamid Mir 2026.04.16 10:05 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
