GA appeared on behalf of the appellant and Ms. Kamei Lungchui Thailui, learned counsel representing advocate on record appeared on behalf of the sole respondent. [2] The present appeal has been filed against the judgment and order dated 28.05.2020 passed by the Court of Lucy Gurum ayum Digitally signed by Lucy Gurumayum Date: 2026.06.11 17:07:54 +05'30' GCA No. 1 of 2020 Page 2 Special Judge (PC), Ukhrul in Spl. Trial (PC) Case No. 1 of 2017 (Ref: FIR Case No. 12(04)2004 VPS – u/s 406/420 IPC & 13(2) PC Act). By the said Judgment and order, the sole respondent herein have been acquitted from the charges levelled against her. [3] It has been submitted at the Bar by the learned counsel appearing for the parties that during the pendency of this appeal, the respondent (who was the sole accused) have expired on 26.06.2024 after a prolong illness at her residence. [4] Mr. R.K. Umakanta, learned Sr. counsel and PP fairly submitted that after making detail enquiry, a report has been submitted and it has confirmed from the report that the sole respondent has expired. [5] In view of the above, the present appeal cannot be proceeded and as such, the present appeal can be closed as abated. [6] Recording the submission made the learned counsel appearing for the parties, the present appeal is hereby closed as abated. JUDGE Lucy
