AND ANR ...Respondent(s) Through: None CORAM: HON’BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE O R D E R 15-05-2026 Vide this petition, the petitioners seek initiation of the contempt proceedings against the respondent authorities for not implementing the judgment/order dated October 31, 2018 rendered by the writ court in SWP No. 2242/2018 (“Sukhwant Singh and Others vs. State of Jammu and Kashmir and Others”). A bare reading of the order referred to above reveals that the petition preferred by the petitioner was disposed of by the writ court with a direction to the respondent authorities to consider their claims having regard to the judgment dated 29.07.2013 rendered in LPA No. 58/2013 (State of J&K and Another v. Joginder Singh and others), provided the same actually had any bearing on the matter in issue as also strictly as per the rules. The petition is pending since 2019 and nearly 07 years have gone by. None is present either on behalf of the petitioners to pursue the matter. It appears that the matter is rendered infructuous with the efflux of time and the same is disposed of as such. However, in the event any dispute/cause of action/interest still survives, the petitioners shall be at liberty to move an appropriate application in the petition itself seeking its revival and its decision on merits.
