The prayer clothed in the instant writ petition is for issuance of a direction to the respondents to remove the anomaly between the pay of petitioners/seniors and junior Government employees, in view of Notification dated 22.08.2019 (ΑNNEXURE P15) issued by the Government of Punjab, Department of Finance. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the similarly situated employees who approached this Hon'ble Court by filing various writ petitions, were granted the same benefit vide various speaking orders dated 12.01.2023 and 07.05.2025 (ANNEXURE P18, & P19 respectively), alongwith all arrears of pay and consequential benefits along with interest @ 12% р.а. 3. He further submits that, at this stage, the petitioners would be DHARAM VIR 2026.08.13 17:50 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document satisfied in case a direction is issued to the competent authority/ respondent concerned to decide the legal notice dated 02.06.2026 (Annexure P17) within a stipulated period. 4. Mr. Sahil R. Bakshi, AAG, Punjab, who is in receipt of an advance copy of the writ petition and represents the respondents, submits that he has no objection in case a direction is issued to the competent authority/respondent concerned to decide the legal notice () within a stipulated period. 5. In view of the above, and without evincing any opinion on the merits of the writ petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the competent authority/respondent concerned to take a final decision on the legal notice () by passing a speaking order, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. 6.
