Challenge in the instant intra-court appeal filed under Clause 10 of letters patent is to an interim order dated 19.12.2018 passed by Contempt Court. 2. Mr. Mahajan, learned senior counsel for the appellants has contended that by virtue of a notification issued on 07.01.2022, The Punjab Affiliated Colleges (Security of Service) Amendment Act, 2021, was notified and alteration has been made in the principal Act, whereby power SHEETAL 2026.07.24 16:58 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment High Court, Chandigarh LPA-208-2019 -2- has been vested upon Educational Tribunal to execute its order. Counsel submits that by virtue of impugned order, learned Single Judge has held that contempt is maintainable, which cannot be sustained in view of the notified amendment. 3. This submission has been opposed by learned senior counsel for respondent No.1, who asserts that amendment is prospective and instant letters patent appeal is not maintainable. However, Mr. Mahajan has controverted this assertion. 4. Be that as it may, since the contempt petition is pending and further proceedings therein were ordered to be stayed by this Court vide order dated 30.01.2019, this Court deems it appropriate to observe that appellants are at liberty to move an appropriate application before the Contempt Court, highlighting the subsequent developments. In case, such an application is moved by appellants, Contempt Court will take into consideration the submissions made by both sides and pass appropriate orders. 5.
