CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE HARISH VAIDYANATHAN SHANKAR O R D E R %
13.07.2026
1. The present Petition seeks initiation of contempt proceedings for the alleged violation of the Order dated 01.02.2024 passed by this Court.
2.
Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Petitioner submits that, during the pendency of the present proceedings, the parties have obtained a decree of divorce and have also settled all disputes inter se.
3. He, however, submits that one issue relating to a locker held jointly in the names of the parties continues to remain unresolved.
4. In this regard, learned counsel for the Petitioner draws the attention of this Court to the Order dated 01.02.2024, wherein reference was made to the aforesaid joint locker and the parties were
directed to cooperate with each other for closure thereof and payment of the dues, if any, payable to the concerned Bank. This is a digitally signed order. 5.
Learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that the aforesaid direction has, till date, not been complied with.
6. Be that as it may, this Court notes that the present contempt proceedings were instituted alleging non-compliance with the directions contained in the Order dated 12.01.2016, in respect whereof the relief sought admittedly no longer survives.
7. Insofar as the alleged non-compliance with the directions contained in the subsequent Order dated 01.02.2024 is concerned, the same does not form the subject matter of the present contempt proceedings.
8. In view of the aforesaid circumstances, this Court is of the opinion that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the present Petition pending.
9. Accordingly, the present Petition, along with pending Application(s), if any, stands disposed of.
