The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking quashment of selection list dated 31.01.2018 (Annexure P/1) for the post of Pump Attendant. 2. The petitioner had applied for the post of Pump Attendant pursuant to the advertisement issued by respondent No.3 herein. The mandatory qualification for the post of Pump Attendant is that the candidate must have passed the Middle School and he must have experience of one year of operating motor pump. However, the petitioner in his application did not mention that he has experience of one year of operating motor pump, therefore, he was placed under the category of ineligible and not called for interview, against which the present writ petition has been filed. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is eligible for the post of Pump Attendant and the petitioner has been placed in the category of ineligible by the respondent authorities. Therefore, the present writ petition deserves to be allowed. 3 WPS No. 2877 of 2019 4. Learned counsel for the respondents would submit that the petitioner does not have the experience of one year to operate the motor pump, therefore, he has rightly been placed in the category of ineligible and, therefore, the instant writ petition deserves to be dismissed. 5. I have heard learned counsel for the parties, considered their rival submissions made herein-above and gone through the records with utmost circumspection. 6. Admittedly, while applying for the post of Pump Attendant the petitioner left blank the column of experience in the application form (Annexure P/3) as he did not have the requisite qualification for the post of Pump Attendant, therefore, he was placed in the category of ineligible list. As such, the candidature of the petitioner has rightly been rejected by the respondent authorities for the post of pump attendant. 7. Consequently, the instant writ petition is hereby dismissed.
