The present petition has been filed by the Social Reformers’ Club, Khurai Nandeibam/ Puthiba Leikai, Imphal East represented by its President, Shri Phijam Ibohanbi Singh.s It is the case of the petitioner that the authorities, without giving any notice and without following any due process of law, initiated action for eviction of the petitioner. Having been aggrieved, the present writ petition has been filed challenging the alleged eviction proceedings. The counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the present petition can be disposed of by issuing a simple direction to the respondents not to evict the petitioner without following due process of law and without giving prior notice and opportunity of being heard to it.
