Mr.P.H.S.Pannu, Advocate with Ms.Ajita Dixit, Legal Manager for the respondent-Insurance Company. *** AWARD OF LOK ADALAT BENCH NO.4 In this case, findings of contributory negligence on the part of injured and driver of offending vehicle were returned by the Tribunal. However, after discussion, Ms.Ajita Dixit, Legal Manager and counsel for the Insurance Company have graciously agreed that findings of contributory negligence can be waived of and the matter can be settled. Accordingly, both the parties settled the appeal. We highly appreciate the stand taken by the officer of the Insurance Company and its counsel. As agreed, (statements of learned counsel for the appellant as well as counsel for the Insurance Company, separately recorded) a sum of Rs.4,50,000/- (Rupees Four Lacs and Fifty Thousand only) over and above the amount already awarded by the Tribunal is allowed to the appellant in full and final settlement of the claim. Accordingly, we dispose of this case with a direction to the Insurance Company to deposit a cheque for the amount of Rs.4,50,000/- (Rupees Four Lacs and Fifty Thousand only) in favour of the appellant with the office of the Lok Adalat of the High Court on or before MEENU KUMARI 2026.09.03 12:48 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment FAO-7233-2018 (O&M) -2- 02.11.2026. Failing compliance of the order, interest @ 9% per annum shall follow on this amount till payment from the date of this order.
