NAMIT KUMAR, J.(Oral) Prayer in this writ petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari for quashing the order dated 28.07.2017 (Annexure P-5) whereby claim of the petitioner for reimbursement of his medical bills was rejected. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that although the medical reimbursement amount of Rs.1,70,515/-, out of total amount of Rs.2,15,247/- has been paid to the petitioner, however, no interest on the said amount has been granted as the same has been paid to the petitioner after a period of 09 years. CWP No.10400 of 2018 -2- 3. In view of the judgment of Hon’ble Supreme Court in Om Prakash Gargi Vs. State of Punjab and others, 1996(11) SCC 399, no interest is admissible on the delayed payment of medical reimbursement. However, since the petitioner has been dragged in unnecessary litigation, therefore, he be compensated by paying a cost of Rs.25,000/- and the same shall be paid by respondent No.2 within a period of 02 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. 4. Present petition stands disposed of accordingly.
