This contempt petition is filed to punish the respondents for their wilful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in 30.11.2025 in WP No.37619 of 2015 and the clarification dated 05.07.2016 in WP No.574 of 2015. In the affidavit, the petitioner has alleged that the renovation of works in Kottai Sri Periya Mariamman temple were undertaken without following the directions of this Court and therefore, the respondents have committed contempt. 4. Learned Additional Advocate-General appearing for the respondents, by pointing out the status report filed by the Executive Officer of the temple, submitted that directions issued by this Court have been duly followed, and after obtaining expert opinion from the State Level Expert Committee, constituted as per the directions of the Division Bench, renovation works were carried on strictly in adherence to the directions issued by this Court. After the completion of entire work, Kumbabishegam (consecration ceremony) was held on 27.10.2023. Learned Additional Advocate-General submitted that the entire work and Kumbabishegam of the temple was performed duly in accordance with the directions of this Court and therefore, there is no disobedience of the order of this Court. From the records, we find that already the entire work has been completed in accordance with the directions of this Court and Kumbabishegam was also conducted as early as in the year 2023.
