The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the respondent issued the impugned final assessment orders alleging theft/unauthorised use of electricity, thereby determining a sum of Rs.3,22,053/- 2/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)Nos.4017 and 4018 of 2018 as payable by the petitioner to the respondent/TANGEDCO. Aggrieved by the same, the present Writ Petitions have been filed. 3. The learned counsel further submitted that the total amount payable is Rs.3,22,053/- and prayed that the petitioner may be permitted to pay the said amount by way of installments. 4. Heard the learned counsel for the parties and perused the materials available on record. 5. In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, permits the petitioner to remit the entire demand amount of Rs.3,22,053/- in four (4) monthly installments. The petitioner shall pay a sum of Rs.97,053/- as the first installment within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and the balance amount of Rs.2,25,000/- shall be paid in three equal monthly installments on or before the 7th day of every succeeding English calendar month. 3/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)Nos.4017 and 4018 of 2018 In the event of default in payment of any one of the installments, it is open to the respondents to proceed against the petitioner in accordance with law. 6.
