The petitioner is aggrieved of Order No. 474-DES of 2018 dated 20.07.2018 issued by respondent No. 2, Director General, Economics and Statistics, J&K, whereby the petitioner has been transferred from the office of Chief Planning Officer, Rajouri, to the Planning, Development and Monitoring Department, Civil Secretariat, J&K. The impugned order has been challenged on the ground that the same has been issued without jurisdiction, inasmuch as, in terms of SRO 281 dated 23.06.2018, no transfer or posting of an officer of the level of Time Scale of KAS and equivalent can be ordered unless a proposal in this regard is sent to the Chief Secretary, who alone is competent to determine whether the proposed transfer is to be effected or not. 2. In the objections filed by the respondents, it has been submitted that the present writ petition has become infructuous as the impugned order dated 20.07.2018 has subsequently been modified vide Order No. 523- DES of 2018 dated 06.08.2018 and the petitioner has been permitted to continue in the office of Chief Planning Officer, Rajouri till further orders. A copy of the aforesaid order has also been placed on record by the respondents. 3. In view of the aforesaid development, the grievance projected by the petitioner stands redressed and nothing survives for adjudication in the present writ petition.
