Petitioner had filed the instant contempt petition alleging non- compliance of order/judgment dated 16.11.2017 passed by this Court in OWP No. 1644/2013, titled, “Virender Kumar vs. State & Ors”, whereby, the compensation have been ordered to be paid to the petitioner in respect of his land utilized by Health Department. Serial No. 02 2 02. Mr. Mukhter Ahmed, SDM Akhnoor, who was virtually present on 16.12.2025, stated that an award to the tune of Rs. 32,72,769/- has been passed in favour of the petitioner and Mr. Raman Sharma, learned AAG had been granted six weeks’ time for filing fresh compliance report. 03. Today, a communication bearing No. DHSJ/Legal/14896, dated 09.02.2026 has been produced before this Court and the same is taken on record. The said communication addressed by the Director Health Services, Jammu to Mr. Raman Sharma, learned AAG, states that in compliance to the order passed by this Court, funds to the tune of Rs. 46.75 lacs have been released in favour of SDM, Akhnoor, for release. 04. Learned counsel for the respondents has also produced a communication bearing No. SDM/AKH/CS/2025-26/1117-19 dated 22.12.2025, which is taken on record. The said communication is issued by the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Akhnoor, whereby it has been stated that in compliance with the Court order, an amount of Rs. 32,72,769/- has been credited through JK PaySys in Account No. 0406010100000052 J&K Bank Branch High Court Jammu of District Judge Jammu. 05. In view of the above, proceedings in this contempt petition are dropped as the impugned order stands complied with, fully and finally. 06. The amount is directed to be released in favour of the claimant who has been held entitled to in terms of the award passed by the Collector. 07.
