1. PUBLIC PROSECUTOR (AP) The Court made the following JUDGMENT: (Per Hon’ble Sri Justice K.Suresh Reddy)
This Court, by order dt. 15.07.2026, directed the Superintendent, Central Prison, Rajamahendravaram to appear before this Court and explain as to why he has not taken action, as the appellant has not surrendered after the COVID period. 2. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, states that right from 2023, the Superintendent, Central Prison, Rajamahendravaram has been addressing letters to the concerned Superintendent of Police. He also states that the Superintendent, Central Prison, Rajamahendravaram also addressed several letters to the appellant, but there was no response. 3.
Today, the Superintendent, Central Prison, Rajamahendravaram is present before this Court and states that there are similarly situated persons who did not surrender before the Jail authorities after completion of COVID period. 4. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor states that he will collect the details of all the convicts, who were not surrendered after the COVID period, and file appropriate petition before this Court within short time. 3

Be that as it may, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, states that the present appellant committed suicide on 13.05.2023, which was the subject matter of Cr.No.79/2023 of Tadikonda Police Station. In view of the above statement, this Criminal Appeal is dismissed as abated. As a sequel, interlocutory applications pending, if any, shall also stand closed. __________________ K.SURESH REDDY, J
