On the previous date of hearing, i.e. 08.07.2026, this Court passed the following order:- “The petitioner has been made to run from pillar to post, to get his medical bill reimbursed, for an amount of Rs.21,97,924/-. The petitioner has approached this Court in the year 2017. Today, learned counsel for the State, has placed on record photocopy of order dated 06.07.2026, whereby, the Civil Surgeon, Moga, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab, has accorded ex post facto sanction for taking treatment by the petitioner from 23.09.2016 to 29.09.2016, from Eternal Hospital, Jaipur. Photocopy of order dated 06.07.2026, is taken on record. Learned counsel for the State, on instructions imparted to him from Mr. Abhishek Madan, Jr. Assistant, DEO (SE), Moga, who is present in the Court, submits that the petitioner is now required to apply through online portal, and thereupon, the authorities concerned, in accordance with the ex post facto sanction granted by the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab, shall take a final decision. At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner has made a request for an adjournment, to do the needful, and thereupon, file a DEVINDER YADAV 2026.07.24 10:41 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment CWP-29364-2017 2 specific affidavit, on the next date of hearing, bringing all the subsequent events before this Court. Today, learned counsel for the petitioner fairly submits that the principal amount of ₹18,95,106/- has been credited to the petitioner’s salary bank account on 20.07.2026. An affidavit dated 22.07.2026 to this effect has also been filed, which is taken on record. It is, however, submitted that no interest has been paid to the petitioner on account of the delayed release of the amount. 3. Since the principal grievance raised in the writ petition stands redressed with the release and credit of the amount (supra) to the petitioner’s bank account, nothing further survives for adjudication in the writ petition. Accordingly, the instant writ petition is closed. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to submit a representation before the competent authority claiming interest on the delayed payment. In the event such a representation is submitted, the competent authority shall consider and decide the same expeditiously, in accordance with law, after affording the petitioner adequate opportunity of hearing. 4. Disposed of accordingly.
