Injured-Davinder Singh has filed the present appeal for enhancement of compensation. Vide award dated 10.07.2017, said injured- Davinder Singh, who had suffered injuries in a motor vehicular accident, which took place on 06.02.2016, has been awarded compensation to the tune of 7,05,000/- along with interest. A very fair stand has been taken by the ₹ counsel for the appellant as well as the counsel for the Insurance Company and it has been jointly submitted that the appellant would be entitled to additional compensation of 60,000/-. The rate of interest which could be ₹ granted in the present case is 7.5% per annum. 2. Keeping in view the abovesaid facts and circumstances and the fair stand taken by the counsel for the appellant as well as the counsel for the respondent no3., the present appeal is partly allowed and the award dated 10.07.2017 passed by the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal is modified and PUNEET SACHDEVA 2026.01.22 17:30 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh FAO No.7912 of 2017 -2- the present appellant is held entitled to additional compensation of 60,000/- ₹ along with interest at the rate of 7.5% per annum and respondent No.3- Insurance Company is directed to pay the said additional compensation of 60,000/- along with interest at the rate of 7.5% from the date of filing of the ₹ claim petition till its realization within a period of six weeks from today.
