JUSTICE YARENJUNGLA LONGKUMER ORDER 12.08.2026 Mr. A. R. Agarwala, learned counsel for the appellant submits that the matter has been amicably settled between the claimants and the respondent/Insurance Company on the condition that an additional amount of rupees five lakhs shall be paid by the Insurance Company to the claimants. Ms. M. Saikia, learned counsel for the respondent No.1 has also endorsed the submission made by the counsel for the appellant and has produced a copy of the letter No. MACAPP/Assam/409/1217/201420366 dated 23/06/2026, written by the Chief Regional Manager of Reliance General Insurance Company Limited where it has been stated that the insurance company has agreed to settle the claim by paying an additional amount of rupees five lakhs in addition to what was awarded by the MACT. The said letter dated 23/6/2026 produced by the learned counsel for the Insurance Company is kept on record and marked as ‘X’. In terms of the settlement arrived at between the parties, this appeal stands disposed. The respondent/ Reliance General Insurance Company is directed to deposit the settled additional amount of rupees five lakhs which has been agreed between the parties before the Registry of this court within a period of four weeks from today. On such deposit, the same shall be disbursed by the Registry to the appellant No.1 after proper verification and identification. Page No.# 3/3 With the above observations, the appeal stands disposed. The trial court record will be returned. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
