Das, learned counsel for the respondent no. 1; and Mr. P. Hazarika, learned counsel for the respondent nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14. 2. This contempt petition was preferred alleging non-compliance of the direction made in Page No.# 4/4 an Order dated 06.01.2017 passed in I.A. no. 2844/2015, arising out of W.P.[C.] no. 6346/2015. By the Order dated 06.01.2017, a direction was made to the Deputy Commissioner, Lakhimpur to arrive at a proper decision in respect of matter of fishing in a pond named Japjup Fishery by passing a speaking order. 3. Mr. Das, learned counsel for the respondent no. 1 has placed a set of instructions received by him from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Lakhimpur under Letter no. DEV-79/8/2025-DEVB-LKPR/471799 dated 14.10.2025. A copy of an Order dated 13.02.2018 has also been enclosed therein. 4. In the Order dated 13.02.2018, the respondent no. 1 has opined that the Japjup Fishery needs to be made open for community fishing by local public in order to maintain peace and harmony among the people. Accordingly, it has been ordered to open the Fishery for use by general public of the locality. 5. As an Order has been passed by the respondent no. 1 in compliance of the direction made in the Order dated 06.01.2017, there is no necessity to proceed with the contempt petition. The contempt petition is accordingly, closed. 6. The set of documents submitted by Mr. Das along with the Office Letter dated 14.10.2025 is kept with the case record by marking it as Document – ‘X’.
